SEEKING INTERNS FOR BOOK PUBLISHING, Unpaid and (Paid if you have prior experience).
Specialist Press International Books seeks enthusiastic, diligent and detail-oriented interns to assist our marketing and editorial efforts. Internships will provide an exciting opportunity to learn about the publishing process, cutting edge e-commerce and social networking ideas, as well as experiments in new methods of distributing and selling books. Tasks may include helping in all aspects of running a small publishing house including: marketing, sales, helping with online and offline marketing initiatives; social media campaigns and on-line and off-line events. They may also include dealing with the media, authors, booksellers, and more.
Located in SOHO, We are seeking several Fall Interns to work with us immediately. Open internships include: Executive Assistant, Writing/Editorial, Sales, Promotion, Marketing, Graphic Design, Web Design, Internet/Online/New Media, and Special Sales. Knowledge of billing credit cards for purchases and experience in invoicing is a major plus.
Successful candidates will be highly organized with excellent follow-through ability. They must have a knowledge of online media. They should also have writing and research skills; familiarity with Word and Excel (if possible); and professional phone and e-mail communication skills. Interns must have a passion for books, ideas, and publishing.
Job Features: Flexible Hours, Unpaid (some positions are paid) to start and could lead to a salaried position. Full Time and Part Time spaces are available and we are located in SOHO, Manhattan.
